Sounds and songs and ideas and grooves. One thing led to another, which happens when we let go. There's a lesson in that: music likes to have its own way with musicians. It seems the best musicians can do is eat healthy and try to get enough sleep and exercise to be able to keep up effortlessly with the music. And 'let go'. Another word is surrender. What happens then? The present, the now, the moment often takes over and one thing leads easily to another until the music goes silent. This can be elusive but more than worth the practise itself. Letting go helps the process, and love itself is the largest creator of art - in any form, i think.

In the end, music is really all about dancing and feeling happy anyway - which again - can be instructive. It's our own choice. I always considered music to be a fabulous Teacher because of the Love aspect! It literally feels so darn good to make music! Healthy, healthy business. I had so much fun making the Hummingbird album! Pure zealous joy!

There's a similarity in song writing between Richard Thompson and Hugh Cornwell which maybe isn't surprising as they went to the same school at the same time, although Thompson is older. Due to Thompson's association with John French of Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band I searched for his work on the Bandcamp app. French, Thompson and Cornwell all have albums on the app which I'm very pleased about.
